It’s known as the ‘race that stops a nation’, but it should be known as the industry that shames a nation.
Every year, thousands of horses are discarded by the horse racing industry, often ending up at knackeries and slaughterhouses.
For the horses that do make it to the track, they can be subjected to whips, bits, jiggers, spurs, tongue-ties & are even drugged, all to make them race faster. And a horse dies on Australian race tracks, on average, every 2 days.
The industry will claim that racehorses are treated like royalty, yet they are confined, raced in the heat, raced at young ages, and then thrown away once their short career ends.
Please join us to stand up for horses. Because the party really isn’t worth it.
